United are already guaranteed to end the season trophyless and are sixth
in the table but could temporarily rise up to fourth if they win at
Goodison Park. Manchester City's defeat of Tottenham on Saturday means
United will draw level on points with Mauricio Pochettino's side should
they beat Everton. Fourth-place Arsenal host Crystal Palace after
Everton's and United's encounter and Chelsea, fifth, entertain Burnley
on Monday night.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had such a vast squad to choose from
prolific teenage striker Mason Greenwood was permitted to play in the
Under-18s' Saturday lunchtime win at Derby, where the 17-year-old scored
twice. Photographers whom witnessed United's arrival on Merseyside
cautioned a couple of players were unidentifiable as they disembarked
the team coach at United's pre-match hotel.
Manchester United goes to Everton on Sunday in Premier League action as
the Red Devils continue to fight for a spot inside the coveted top four.
United is 19-7-7 and in sixth place, while Everton is 13-7-14 and
aiming to finish the weekend in the top 10. The Red Devils have a
make-up game on Wednesday against city rival Manchester City, and
getting a result here and on Wednesday would put them in a fantastic
position to finish inside the top four.
Manchester United's bid to secure a top-four finish in the Premier
League could be in trouble when the Red Devils travel to Goodison Park
to face Everton on Sunday.The Toffees have been in solid form as of
late, despite losing 2-0 away to already relegated Fulham last time out.
Prior to the off day at Craven Cottage, Everton had won their past
three, including beating United's top-four rivals Chelsea and Arsenal at
home.
